John attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where he studied youth ministry, as well as Missouri State University, also in Springfield, MO where he majored in entrepreneurism.

 

In addition to being a race car driver and a co-owner of Gibson Motorsports, John is employed by powerTV Media where he is the editor of OneDirt.com and ChevyHardCare.com.

While still in high school, John received professional driving instruction in Formula One type cars at Sears Point Raceway in California.  Following college at Missouri State University, John moved to North Carolina where he received one-on-one training at the Buddy Baker School of Racing.
