John Gibson was born in Springfield, Missouri and began his racing career at the age of 13 in the Midwest. Like many professional racers before him, John began his career racing go-karts. While karting, John won numerous feature events, track and season championships, even winning an International Karting Federation (IKF) Grand National event in 2004.
John completed professional race car driving instruction, both on road courses and on oval tracks. In 2005 John moved from his hometown of Springfield, Missouri to Statesville, North Carolina where he and his family founded Gibson Motorsports. John began racing USAR Pro Cup in 2005 which he continues to this day.
John Gibson is 25 years old and single. He attended college at Baptist Bible College and Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. In addition to being a race car driver and co-owner of Gibson Motorsports, John is currently employed as a Marketing and Sales Specialist by Sea Systems, the manufacturer of MitiGator. John is a sports enthusiast and enjoys fishing, photography, and hanging out with his family, friends, and his boxer, Phoenix.
