Preparations Underway for Championship Series

John Gibson, driver of the #13 MitiGator Ford Fusion finished the 2010 USAR Pro Cup Series regular season 5th in the points standings.  Preparations are now well underway at the Gibson Motorsports shop in Statesville, NC for the start of the USAR Pro Cup Championship Series.

“We’ve had a strong car at a number of events this year,” said John, “and I really can’t wait to get back out on the track. We had a run of some mechanical issues, and the transmission just really didn’t want to cooperate for a couple of races, but we feel pretty confident those issues are behind us now.  We’ll be testing at Concord on Friday before the race to shake the car down and work on a set up.”

To get geared up for the Championship Series races, the Gibson Motorsports crew members participated in a team building event at The Pit, an indoor karting arena in Mooresville, NC.  Food and celebration followed, as did sore muscles the following day.  “We had an absolute blast,” said John.  “I have the best crew ever. “

The first race of the USAR Pro Cup Championship Series is Saturday, August 28th at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC.
